Voices Only 2006!
A track from NbT’s new CD, Caught Red Handed, has been selected to be on the new compilation CD, VOICES ONLY 2006. Voices Only is a two-disc a cappella compilation album including collegiate groups nationwide. Tracks are chosen based on soloist, arrangement, production, innovation, etc. by RARB reviewer and ICCA judge Corey Slutsky and CASA board of directors member Brock Harris.
NbT’s debut album, Caught Red Handed was released April 21, 2006. The track that will appear on Voices Only from the album is “Unwritten”. It’s a huge accomplishment for a track from a debut album to be featured on a compilation like this, especially with this particular track. “Unwritten” was not on the original track list for Caught Red Handed. In fact, the track was recorded for the CD starting a month and a half before release and without an arrangement of the song. NbT took a completely different approach recording this song since there was little time, and each part you hear on the CD was made up on the spot by an NbT member listening to the original version by Natasha Bedingfield. Some members also were able to spend some time in Boston, MA, with the mix engineer, Jon Clark, to be a part of the production aspect. There is a wide variety of recording technique used on Caught Red Handed, and it only improved over time. You can expect the same quality as “Unwritten” for every track of NbT’s next CD!
