NbT wins a free mixed track at SoJam
November 11 2007
In November 2007, NbT traveled to Raleigh, NC for the third year in a row to attend the SoJam competition and conference. As usual, the girls walked away with some priceless enthusiasm, new techniques, and some one-on-one rehearsal time with a professional a cappella group. But this year the girls walked away with a little bit more.
NbT won a raffle to participate in SoJam BLACK along with eight other collegiate groups. SoJam BLACK is a new compilation CD put on by the people behind SoJam, AACI, in which each group gets a free track mixed by one of the top a cappella producers in the business. This prize can definitely help NbT to save some money and is a great way to kick off recording for the next NbT CD!

NbT Exclusive: Fall Concert Recap
November 16, 2007
If you missed the fall concert, you missed one great show! NbT has been able to use its momentum and continue to build upon previous efforts to improve the music AND the visual performance. The concert was entertaining and impressive. With a total of 4 new members out of only 10 singers, the girls sang and entertained like they were seasoned professionals.
Three groups opened the concert, including mixed groups With Someone Else's Money from UGA, Infinite Harmony from Georgia Tech, and a new Atlanta area semi-pro a cappella group called Breakdown.

The hits of the night included "What Goes Around Comes Around" with its awesome attitude and rockin' vocal percussion. The repertoire rocked the house with a great mix of emotions. The girls were everything from sexy to angry to inspirational, and, yes, even creepy (when appropriate, of course).
Be sure to mark the upcoming concerts (April 12 & 18) on your calendars! You won't want to miss it.

Taking the Next Step: Alumni Support Needed
January 1, 2008
NbT has been taking full strides forward since its beginning, and you have all had a part in its progress. The next step is here, but the next generation of NbT gals need our help.
As alumni, we have the opportunity to enable NbT to take on large projects that would otherwise be unrealistic. We are starting an Alumni Fund that will be used for large projects above and beyond the every day workings of the group. The goal is to put money towards projects that will be easily sustainable (or self-sustainable) after the large upfront investment. Such investments could include large purchases of sound equipment, sponsoring a member's trip to a recording seminar, or providing capital to start an annual program with local area High Schools. Each of these examples are long term investments where the upkeep would be minimal, experience can be passed down and improve future projects, or proceeds from an event go towards putting on the event the following year. This would not go towards regular, recurring expenses. The goal is rather to enable large steps that line up with the group's vision and have a long-term effect.
A committee of alumni and current officers will be formed to determine how money will be used and coordinate fundraising efforts. Current projects will be communicated through the Alumni Newsletter. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, contact alumnifund@nothinbuttreble.com. We would be looking to have around 5 alumni members on the committee, in addition to the group's current Music Director, Business Manager, and Treasurer.
If you would like to go ahead and pledge any amount of money to the group for this semester, please contact alumnifund@nothinbuttreble.com.
